Welcome to the inaugural issue of the HBCU Speakers Bureau and Research Magazine. The impetus for this initiative was the creation of the Howard University Graduate School’s Speakers Bureau, Quest Research Magazine, and the Howard University Graduate School’s Research Magazine which were in existence for a combined total of nearly 20 years.  I am pleased to have played a major role in the creation and sustenance of these important organs of communication at Howard University.

The establishment of a bureau and magazine as one entity signals my renewed commitment, since retirement from Howard, to promoting research and other accomplishments of current faculty and alumni of historically black colleges and universities across the nation and the world.  It is my firm belief that enhancing the communication of such research and expertise will help to ensure the legacy of HBCUs for the immediate future, throughout the 21st century, and beyond.

For further information, you may contact me at scottoncommunications@gmail.com or at 301.328.6200.  Please join me in a renewed commitment to communicating to the nation and world the rich legacy of groundbreaking research and accomplishments of HBCUs, alumni and associates.

I look forward to hearing from you soon and I thank you in advance for your interest and participation in this endeavor.

Sincerely,

Gwendolyn Scotton Bethea, Ph.D.
